Frequently asked questions about Garden Offices

How big does a games room need to be for a pool table?

A full sized pool table is around 8ft long, and you also need to take into account space for the players to move their que around the room. Because of this, we’d recommend a minimum size of 4m x 5m. If you’d like to include additional features such as a bar, or a seating area we recommend going bigger.

Do I need planning permission for a garden games room?

If you have permitted development rights, as long as your games room follows their requirements you won’t need planning permission.

The guidelines are:

less then 2.5m maximum height
no more than 30m² in size (external measurement)
At least 2m away from your boundary

Can my games room have a bar?

Yes, a lot of our customers want a games room that includes a bar. Get in touch and we can discuss all your options and recommend a design that works for you.

How many games can I have in my games room?

Due to the bespoke nature of our games rooms, we can fit as many plug sockets as required to power your games. Arcade games can take up a lot of space, so you’re more likely to be restricted by the size of the room than anything else. If you’re unsure what size games room you need, get in touch and one of our advisors will be able to assist you.

Can I use my games room all year round?

Of course – all of our games rooms are fully insulated and have double glazed windows which makes them very heat efficient. On top of that, as standard they all come with an electric radiator so you can use your games room comfortably all year round.
